Struggle Story of HCS Topper Aditya Ranga
Strategy, consistency and internal motivation- these are the virtues which our HCS topper Mr Aditya Ranga used as weapons to win the battle of becoming a civil servant. Just like everyone else, he too had a lot of constraints which repeatedly affected and sometimes even halted his preparation.
Aditya, our bright eyed topper tells us that he had never been good at studies whether in school or college. And just like every other person, he was often compared to his sister who is now a practicing doctor! Today, he stands tall amongst the toppers, thrashing the idea of an excellent academic record which he says, is irrelevant for the civil services exam. He says that the fact that Public Service Commission’s require the candidates go through a full-fledged process of Prelims, Mains and Interview is the proof that they require people with good life skills and just a basic knowledge rather than school toppers or gold medalists.
With around 17 re- appears in the first three years of B Tech, Aditya found his ground in the final year of graduation when he came across the Deputy Commissioner of his area. For Aditya, it was a life changing experience. He was amazed at the way a person could be such an important exponent for positive change. And that day, he decided to prepare for the Civil Services Exam. He cleared all his reappears in the fourth year itself and started his preparation.
Aditya recalls many such moments when he had to give up on his preparation due to financial constraints or family responsibilities. He credits his parents, sister and the guidance received at O2 IAS Academy for his success today. Even when he was working full time, his focus would be to cover the daily newspaper and do a bit of GS for the day. Off and on were the phases of his life and quite an uphill battle. But with persistence and hard work, his efforts saw the light of the day and he made his way through Haryana Civil Services Exam.
For Aditya, this journey has been less about studying and more about handling stress which is true for every aspirant, he believes. As the exam approaches, the confidence level of all aspirants goes down. Picking oneself up during that phase and gathering the courage to write papers back to back without faltering is the real deal.
He says that there is a tremendous store of knowledge with every aspirant, everybody works hard, and everyone has the best study material. The challenge is putting that knowledge to use! Prelims requires you to be smart, Mains requires you to have a balanced approach while writing answers while Interview tests how clearly and precisely you express yourself to the board.
“O2 IAS Academy brought clarity to my thoughts, polished my way of expression and made me feel confident about myself and my journey”, the young officer exclaims!
Having achieved his goal of getting the chance to work as a civil servant in his native state, Aditya motivates all other aspirants with the words “If I can, so can you!”. He feels that anybody with a strong will and internal motivation can become a civil servant. The country needs dedicated officers and the youth must come up and join the civil services for better times.
